United Sustainable Energy Agency (USEA) has been providing an enhanced National Indicator 185 service for West Oxfordshire District Council since 2008.
Our reporting goes beyond the mandatory requirement, with a strong focus on identifying both opportunities for energy reductions and improvements to data collection.
Our method helps clients:
During 2008/9, we compiled a robust baseline dataset using energy data collected from internal and subcontracted services. This included municipal buildings, Council fleet, contracted fleet services, staff car use and contracted Leisure services.
Data collected and formats used were harmonised across all areas. Where no data existed, a system was provided to collect the correct data without significant extra effort from council staff.
USEA supplies Council Officers with regular quarterly trend data on all of these areas of Council emissions. This is compared to the baseline year on month by month basis.
Work to develop and improve data collection within the council continues. Regular meetings with all major stakeholders ensure this is an on-going process.
USEA currently works with 5 local authorities to deliver this service in the East and South East of England.
